The community of Pachaj is a Mayan K’iche’ village, where the K’iche’ language is spoken, in the municipality of Cantel, department of Quetzaltenango. Many families in Pachaj are artisans whose crafts include weaving, embroidery, sewing, and the production of hand-made Mayan tapestries. We also have those who dedicate themselves to the production and preparation of typical local foods, bakers, farmers, small business owners, teachers, and construction workers. It is a population with diverse religious practices.
